Gingerbread Cookie Decorating Night at the Museum
The Athens County Historical Society and Museum is sponsoring a gingerbread cookie decorating opportunity for families on Thursday, December 10th from 6-8pm. Come and celebrate the season at the museum. Cookies, icing and sprinkles will be provided. There will be treats for little kids and big kids alike. No fees. Just fun!
While at the museum, be sure to examine the beautiful and creative gingerbread houses that inspired this cookie decorating event. Check out the examples of historic structures from Athens County rendered in cookies and candy and icing. The gingerbread houses will be on display through January 5th.
Bring your creative ideas and decorate some Christmas cookies for you and a few more for your grandparents. Explore the museum. Check out the model train and village display. Take some selfies in front of the exhibits. This is the last month the museum will be at its current location. It too will be history soon!
While at the museum check out the gift shop. It is full of holiday gift ideas and work from local artisans. Shop locally in Athens, but don’t overlook the ACHS&M gift shop and book store. This year we have Gingerbread house kits for sale if you’d like to try your hand at it!
