The Federal Valley Resource Center, located at 8225 State Route 329 in Stewart, Ohio presents the 15th Annual Southeast Ohio Dulcimer Festival on October 14-16, 2016.
“The fretted dulcimer is one of America’s major contributions to the world of music. It has been handed down to us anonymously by the people of the Southern Appalachian Mountains. It has been called the Appalachian dulcimer, lap dulcimer and mountain dulcimer. It does not exist as we know it in any other folk culture in the world.” Jerry L. Saturday: Playing workshops 9:30am-4:30pm with a festival concert starting at 7:00pm.
Sunday: Master classes provided by Butch Ross on Mountain Dulcimer and Percussion by Jeff Berman
Learn, teach, play and listen to mountain and hammered dulcimers, banjos and all other forms of Appalachian musical instruments.
