5:00 to 7:00 PM
Join photographer Bob Devaney for an evening of stories and memories as we celebrate the opening of our latest exhibit, “Some of the People of Athens County 1967 to 1993.”
From 1965 to 1969, Bob was a student at Ohio University. He returned to Athens in 1974 and lived and worked in Athens until he moved to Oakland, California in 1984. He has returned to Athens for at least a few days every year since.
Bob started taking photographs in 1968 while living in Boston. He primarily shot color slide film, mostly Kodachrome. He always has his camera with him. By the early nineties, unable to buy a roll of Kodachrome in New York City, he switched to digital. Somehow, he managed to hang on to all his slides and negatives.
Although Bob has lived in California since 1984, most of his friends are still here in Athens, and many of them are featured in this exhibit!
