William E. Peters Lyceum Lunch

Join us at Southeast Ohio History Center to learn about the work of William E. Peters, Athens County engineer, attorney, and historian on Thursday, August 17th at 12:00pm. This event is free and open to the public!

Peters left a remarkable legacy regarding land in Ohio and history in Athens County from the time he arrived in the 1870s until he died in 1952. Ohio University has recently begun to digitize The Peters Papers, which have been held for the past half century in the Alden Library Archives. Some of Peters’ work has recently been made available to the general public online.

Erin Wilson of Ohio University Archives and Tom O’Grady of the Southeast Ohio History Center will be giving a joint presentation on the extraordinary work of this noteworthy citizen scholar of Athens County at the next Lyceum Luncheon.
