Travel back in time to the Medieval period before there were zippers, colorful buttons, and tiny hooks and eyes and snaps to adorn clothing. A time when people had to invent a way to secure their clothing or to carry items on their person. Tuesday, August 18, fiber artists, Meta Van Nostran and Deborah Wolf will share the history of the Lucet tool that was used to make cordage of all sizes for many practical uses. Following the program, participants can return on Thursday, August 20 to learn how to creatively use the Lucet to make their own cordage for a multitude of purposes today. Come and enjoy just the historical story or call the history center to register for the two days to ensure we have enough Lucets for everyone. All supplies will be provided.
