Join author David Mowery as he discusses Morgan’s Raid in southeast Ohio and the Battle of Buffington Island.

Morgan’s Raid was characterized by incredible speed, superhuman endurance and innovative tactics. The effort produced the only battles fought north of the Ohio River and reached farther north than any other regular Confederate force. 

Cincinnati native David L. Mowery has lived along the path of Morgan’s Raid for most of his life. In 2001, he joined the Ohio Civil War Trail Commission as its Hamilton County representative and was involved in the final design and historical validation of of the entire length of the John Hunt Morgan Heritage Trail of Ohio.
